How to Set Up
Freeze the Cool-Not-Cold packs overnight. Place the packs in the Narwhals and fill with 60-65°F (16-18°C) water until 1/4" (6 mm) below the rubber seal lip. Learn more here.

Should I get the Narwhals or Narwhal XLs?
The Narwhals work for most people in most situations. The Narwhal XLs are ideal for people with large hands (8 inches or longer). Measure from the tip of your longest finger to your wrist. The XLs are also a good option for elite athletes who required maximum cooling power during short rest periods.
What are the most common use cases for palm cooling?
Palm cooling is a proven method for increasing training volume, gaining strength faster, and accelerating recovery during competitions. It's ideal for sports with built in rest periods including weightlifting, basketball, hockey, football, martial arts, sprint intervals, etc. As long as you can cool for at least 90 seconds, ideally 2-3 minutes between bouts of effort, palm cooling is effective in delaying fatigue - enabling you to push harder longer. Do I need special equipment?
We recommend using a point and shoot or digital thermometer to ensure you fill the Narwhals with the accurate water temperature (60-65°F or 16-18°C).
